TAYLORSVILLE — A good crowd turned out for the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new location of Cooper Southern Properties on Saturday, May 4. Alexander County Commissioner Marty Pennell, along with Taylorsville Mayor George Holleman and Council Members Kim Brown, Eric Bumgarner, and Tamara Odom, participated in the ribbon cutting.
Located at 166 West Main Avenue (next to Auto Zone) in downtown Taylorsville, the real estate firm’s owners Marshall and Marissa Cooper Winstead have provided professional real estate services to the Carolinas since 2003.
Established in Alexander County, the firm was chosen in 2007 as Alexander County’s “Small Business of the Year.” In recognition of their ongoing professional service to the community, Cooper Southern Properties was awarded the “Readers’ Choice Award” as Alexander County’s “Best Real Estate Firm” for seven consecutive years from 2014 through 2020.
In 2020, under the continued leadership of Marshall and Marissa, Cooper Southern Properties expanded their business from the foothills of North Carolina to include the coastal areas of North and South Carolina.
Marissa said they enjoyed working on the coast, but missed Alexander County and its people. “We enjoyed living at the beach and selling some cool coastal properties, but we really missed the mountains and our hometown family in Taylorsville,” she said.
Cooper Southern Properties continues to provide quality real estate services in Alexander and surrounding counties, while also helping clients in the coastal area.
