ALEXANDER COUNTY, NC (June 12, 2019) — A ribbon cutting was held at the new Bethlehem Direct Care on Wednesday, June 12 at 2:30 p.m. Alexander County Commission Vice Chairman Ronnie Reese assisted with the ribbon cutting, and expressed his appreciation to Drs. Mark and Jill DeVries for opening this much-needed medical practice in the Bethlehem community.
Bethlehem Direct Care is a unique medical facility in the area, as direct primary care (DPC) is an innovative model of care which offers unparalleled access to your personal physician, extended office visits, and electronic communications for an affordable, budget-friendly price.
“We developed Bethlehem Direct Care to be independent, unique, and sustainable by providing an alternative to the larger, hospital-owned and insurance-driven practices in the area,” Dr. Jill said. “We became family physicians because we enjoy caring for people and for our community. At Bethlehem Direct Care, that’s what we do.”
New patients will pay a one-time enrollment fee of $50 per family. Then, the monthly cost for adults ages 21+ is $50, college students age 20+ is $30, and under age 21 is $25. The family cap is $150 per month. These fees are also applicable to small businesses that may not currently provide health insurance.
Regular office hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (closed each day from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.). Patients also have 24/7 access by phone, email, or text message.
